Meet David Jara, Au.D., CCC-A

Dr. David Jara is an audiologist based in Washington, D.C., licensed by the Boards of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology in both Virginia and Washington, D.C. He holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. In addition to his clinical work, he serves on the board of the Northern Virginia Resource Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons, where he advocates for and supports the community.

Dr. Jara earned his Doctorate in Clinical Audiology from the University of Maryland, where he also worked as a research assistant in the Hearing Research Laboratory. His research explored the effects of aging and hearing loss on auditory processing. His clinical training included rotations in otolaryngology practices and at Washington Hospital Center, followed by a fellowship at Advanced Hearing Health Care, where he honed his skills in comprehensive audiologic evaluations, along with the selection, fitting, and programming of hearing aids.

Dr. Jara is fluent in both English and Spanish. His lifelong passion for linguistics and human communication continues to guide his work in helping patients improve their hearing and overall quality of life.
